EPSA Partners with Demospere for Registration Platform
FALLS CHURCH, VA – July 30, 2021 – Demosphere, the most experienced integrated technology solutions provider for sports organizations, announces a new partnership with Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association (EPSA).
With Demosphere, EPSA will undergo a new website design, alongside utilizing best-in-class association solutions, to include integrated online player registration, tournament management, and league scheduling tools. The association's expansive community of 15 leagues and 3,500 players will all benefit from Demosphere’s robust features and ease of use.
On the partnership, EPSA President Jim Bollinger says, “We had no electronic system in place at the State level to collect player registrations or run tournaments. We are excited to centralize the data, have it accessible, and have the opportunity to organize our State Cup tournaments using Demosphere's software. The ability to communicate more efficiently, via email and mobile, will be a huge plus to the State and the leagues.”

EPA mourns the loss of Frank Giancroce December 31, 2020
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that Frank Giancroce, our State Referee Administrator and an icon in Eastern Pennsylvania soccer for over 30 years, passed away earlier today due to complications from Covid-19. Frank fought hard, but this illness has taken a great man, husband, father and mentor.
The soccer community lost a giant today.
The family is forever grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers.
Services have not yet been planned, but they will be limited to immediate family only.
As details are worked out for a future memorial we will pass them on.
Please stay safe, and let's welcome in the New Year with expectations of better things to come.
US Open Lamar Hunt Qualifying - 11/18/18
Taking it to the New York Pancyprian-Freedoms (New York Cosmopolitan League). After losing our starting goalie John Paletar to a head injury(requiring 5 staples) five minutes into the game. WCUSC back up GK/Evan Bleiler came in and immediately made a huge save.
West Chester United was able to catch New York on three counter attacks. “We knew that our pace would give us these opportunities and it was a huge part of our game plan” said head coach Blaise Santangelo.
West Chester’s first goal came in the 38’ off of a defensive take over deep in their defensive third. The ball was played forward and wide at midfield to Chas Wilson who headed a cheeky ball to Matt Greer who ran at pace into N.Y.’s
defensive third. Beating two defenders as he raked across at 30 yards from goal. Greer unleashed a laser from 25 yards that beat the goalie upper left.
In the 42’ Conor Osborne found Chad Poarch on a diagonal run splitting NY’s defense with a two level pass. Chad Poarch shot from outside the box.
The ball hit a defender and went up and over the goalie finding the net. 2-0 WCUSC. Throughout the night West Chester played great team defense. “From the front to the back everyone played high-level, high-pressure, responsible defense” said Santangelo. West Chester would take 2–0 lead into the locker room.
In the second half NY came out with good energy and West Chester played a more conservative defense. At the start of the second half, after weathering the first 15 minutes of New York’s pressure, counter attack opportunities started to open for West Chester. In the 73rd minute, Chad Poarch made in attacking run down the left flank. The defender picked him up near the end line, Chad was able to beat two N.Y. defenders and played a brilliant
ball to Andreas Bartosinski who was at the top of the 18. Bartosinski came through with the laces on a ball strike that found the lower left panel. West Chester 3-0!
“From then on it was all about keeping a clean sheet” said Santangelo . The backline of Enda O’Neill, Peter Nolan, Sam Bollinger, and Conor Osborne stayed organized and were truly brilliant. Meanwhile, in the midfield Michael Gonzales, Bartosinski, and Greer continued there harassment of the Pancyprian-Freedoms possession game. Brothers Jordan Poarch and Chad Poarch were phenomenal on the midfield flanks both offensively and defensively!

and Ben Maury injected West Chester with great need energy.
It was a great win for West Chester United Soccer Club. This hopefully punches their ticket to the 2019 Lamar Hunt Cup that will take place in May.
USASA National Open Cup state final produces second ever 4-time Champion
West Chester Majors defend their title!
Junior Lone Star fought hard but came up short in the 96th minute with a final score of 4-3
West Chester Majors headed into the EPSA State Open Cup Final vs a talented Junior Lone Star club with a confident but respectful attitude.
Player/Coach Blaise Santangelo remarked,
"We knew that JLS was talented and young and would pressure us all over the field," as they did for most of the game. We (WC Majors) have had a difficult fall in Philly USL League play. "Most games we have had only 11 [field players] with zero substitutions and goalie by volunteers."
However, one thing West Chester does well is
defend its Open Cup titles.
"We have had much turnover on the roster this year; as we have brought up youth from the U23 program.
We knew it would take time to learn how to play together. However, we also knew that we could do something special in the Open Cup that would validate our Fall!"
"Junior Lone Star was all over us in the first half. With continuous dangerous crossing balls into the box from their flanks . Our back line and goalie were just trying to weather the storm!"
Junior Lone Star was able to crash the box and created three great scoring opportunities on which they finished.
West Chester was playing into the wind in the first half and scored a goal by Justin McCall from a crossing ball by Matt Poole.
At the half the score was Junior Lone Star 3 - West Chester 1. "We came off at half feeling that we left two or three goals on the field." WC changed formation and substituted a center back and an outside flank player to start the second half. "I told the boys with the wind to our back that we had JLS right where we wanted them."
"JLS was feeling confident and they should've been as they were up 2 goals. We knew we could score goals in the second half especially on our turf pitch!"
West Chester scored 3 times in the second half. First off, a restart from 30 yards as Billydee Scantleberry blasted a shot that went far post top corner.
About 12 minutes later on another restart Billydee served a crossing ball from just outside the 18 box which found the head of Bill Brown who put it in the back of the net to level the score at 3-3.
"After we leveled it up Junior Lone Star put tremendous amounts of pressure on our back line and keeper. But deep into added time we played a ball into the deep left flank. Billydee received it at the top of the arch and takes a touch and ushers it on a diagonal to the right for an oncoming Kevin Glenn who hammers it home far side upper 90 from the 18! Absolutely brilliant first time strike!"
"Our goalie Aaron Volz made three tremendous saves on scoring attempts by JLS." This was Aaron's debut for WC Majors although he has been a goalie all his life in the West Chester United Soccer Club. "I told Aaron that he would need to save those shots that were savable; and that he would need to make 2 to 3 great saves which is what he was able to accomplish!"
West Chester will compete in Open Cup regional play come spring.
"Playing the last three years in spring regional Open Cup competition really gives our winter training a purpose and we are all looking forward to it!"
There has not been a four time consecutive Open Cup Champ since the storied UGH teams of 1996/97-2000/01.

- League Affiliation Fees, Team Fees and Bond Replenishment are due in to the State Office by September 1.
- Player registration fees should be paid within 30 days of registration.
